about Mariam

To a lot of those who don’t know me personally, I would be described as a woman with an enviable personality.

Though I am seen as a socialite in the African community, my priorities and focus have remained unshaken. Being bestowed the title “Ajishoge” meaning always ready for style and fashion, would explain my passion for fashion and how good I am in expressing it.

I would also describe myself as a woman who is very blessed, God fearing, intelligent, ambitious, stylish, beautiful both inside and out and a good friend.

Besides the flair for fashion and style, I also have a strong educational background. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Masters Degree in Professional Counselling from the acclaimed Prairie View A & M University both in the Texas.

Its not just beauty but there is also brains. Having the opportunity from a very young age to materialize my creations by designing my own clothes inspired by current fashion trends in vogue, I developed a penchant & passion to put together various fabrics from all over the world and transmute my visions & designs into their physical equivalents that are beautiful to see and comfortable to wear Aside from the fact that I have accumulated numerous experiences in different family owned businesses, I acquired varied management & design skills from managing “M Squared Couture” a business which produced different African Fashions shows in Houston, Texas.

Having migrated to Canada, my current business “Mariam’s concepts” is born. As a member of Mac Pro of Mac Cosmetics, also attending the Chellsey Institute of Aesthetics Inc. Canada as a professional makeup artist, Mariam’s Concept is professionally conversant in the beauty department.

The business is established in Toronto Ontario, geared towards the African beauty and fashion consulting. Initially focusing on my signature Headgears (Gele) tying; we also offer the complete package (Lashes, makeup, fabrics, Headgears and fashion products) for your special day.
